The Question Poem

1.Is your heart open ?
Is your mind listening ?
Have you stopped hoping ?
Do you ignore the bluebird whistling ?

2.Do you see beauty ?
Or do you regret the cold ?
Do you pet the kitty ?
Or are you worried so much all you think about is getting old ?

3.Is it time to waiste ?
Or is it time to praise ?
Are you a complaint case ?
Or a sweet smelling, delighting yourself in the Lord heavenly sage ?

Author's Comments

I wrote this during one of Kevin Jordan's sermons at Sunrise Community Church which was locaded at 341 State street in the Basement.
Kevin Jordan has step down as Pastor and I will miss him but I believe just like Maria says in the Sound of Music when God closes a door he opens a window somewhere else.
I believe God will still be with Sunrise and God will be with Kevin Jordan.
I hope God is with all my friends or strangers near or faraway who read this poem whatever there christian back ground is.

If These Be My Last Words

1.If these be my last words
Let them bring hope and a cure
Let them bring peace where blood shed steered
Let them bring faith and dissolve fear

2.Yes,if these be my last words
Let them be sweet and nic
Not just chatter, but good advice
Let my words be profound
Let them be heard by everyone around

3.If these be my last words
Than make them important
We can't take them back,once we're dead it's certain
I want to bring down the house when they close the curtain

Author's Comments

I often think about leaving this life and not being remembered or what is worse being remembered for the bad things I did.
So to remind myself and also as a prayer to God I wrote this poem.

Do I Think About You ?

* Chorus:

Well you ask me a question
And you want a reply
Should I tell you the truth ?
Or would you rather me lie ?
Do I think about you ?
Do I dare ?
Did you think about me ?
Did you care ?

1.Yeah I thought about you
You threw me for a loop
I thought about you
I was duped
You told me you loved me
Then you fell for someone else
Was it because I was poor ?
Or was it because he had wealth ?*

2.Well I did think about you
In that black Limousine
Yeah I thought about you
How you looked so very keen
But I didn't see you much after that
Now 10 years you show up very fat*

3.Well I thought about you
Yeah it's really true
I so much about you
But what could I do ?
I never was good at chasings clouds
If the plays over you take your bows*

4.You never did say much
About how you felt
I guess you can only play the cards
That you are dealt
And when the snow did melt
You found a gold ring and left me without help*

5.But now you wonder
After all these years
The lighting,earthquakes & thunder
The many nights of tears
Do I think about you ?
Do I still care ?
Do you want the truth ?
Do you really dear ?*

6.Cause I thought about you
But now I could careless
Don't play me for a fool
Don't second guess
Cause I think about you
Like arsenic and oldlace
I think about you
But keep your suitcase
Cause I don't want to die in your arms
I don't want to fall for your deceiving charms*

7.The bright shiny smile
The innocent eyes
The complimentry words
With a skillful disguise
You may buy me a ticket to London or France
But there won't be no music because I'm not going to dance*

8.So put away your wallet
And don't waiste your tears
Yeah put away that liquor
Cause I don't drink beer
I'm not looking for Sympathy
I have no regrets
I'ld rather be free
Than on a lear jet
All the money in the world
Won't buy back my love
You had it yesterday
But you flew like a dove*

A Revolution for God

A Revolution for God

1.Let's start a revolution of kindness
Not ignorance and blindness
The sixties were fine
If you wanted to alter your mind
But what do drugs really accomplish ?

2.Let's be rebels for goodness
Let's serve the High King Jesus
Isn't it about time
To climb the good climb
And let the real truth free us

3.Are you going to be the one to help ?
Are you going to share your wealth ?
Walk while you still have the light
Fight the real good fight
Stand firm and gird the lions of your belt

4.Put on the whole armour of God
Let His spiritual staff and rod
Comfort your soul
Discipline you whole
For the Lord disciplines the ones He loves

5.Repent ! Repent !
Smell the sweet perfume that Heaven sent
To wake up the dead
"Follow me" Jesus said
"And I will make you fisher's of men "

Fall

Fall is pretty as can be
Leaves are falling off each tree
Dancing around in the air
A red one here, an orange one there

Mother's and Dad's will rake for awhile
And then all the kids can jump in each pile
Another fun thing is carving pumpkins
With triangle eyes and scary looking grins

Getting candy everywhere
Trick or Treating here and there
Johnny is Superman, and Frank is Batmen
Sue and Carol are Raggedy Andy and Raggedy Anne

School begins in the fall
Learning new things for one and all
We greet old friends with a smile and cheer
And look forward to a fun school year

Thanksgiving is very cool and nice
In the feast we eat turkey, pie and rice
Don't forget to mention football, The Thanksgiving day parade
and relatives that come from far far away

Fall is coming to an end
Winter is right around the bend
So get out your coats, gloves and boots too
Because any day now some magical white stuff will come to you

Die Victoriously Die

She's coming
She's going
And your never really knowing
The moment you think it's over
She's just beyond your shoulder
Ready to give you a kiss
She is your scary wish
I know I sound a little morbid
But how would you feel after what she did ?
Maybe I'm letting my emotions get away from me
Emotions from her fleeting beauty
But even if it is fleeting, it is still beautiful
Like a sunsets afterglow
Or a snowy morning
Love comes without warning
Life doesn't leave you a notice in the mail
Like a weatherman saying expect hail
Besides the weatherman is often wrong
Life is an unexpected song
Fate plays funny cards
You never know when it will throw you a joker
So don't trust the stars
Even if the night is clear
Be wise to the unpredictable
And pray to God for mercy
Everyday offers a new road
A new truth to know
Another chance to grow
Open your eyes to see
Find truth and be free
It's not to late to turn the key
Open the door
Take a chance and explore
Why do you ignore ?
Your deep urges from within
This chance may never come again
You may think I'm talking about sin
But rather I am talking about life
Love, nature and flying a kite
I am also talking about doing what's right
Not Tomorrow, Tonight !
Why tamper with success
Fight the good fight
Make your life the best
Romance with true romance
Even if there is no chance
Dance the most beautiful dance
Like an eagle soaring in the sky
Fly ever so high
And Die Victoriously Die !

On Making Friends

We can't always choose our friends
So if friends are what you need
Then be a true friend indeed
That way some of the friends you befriend
Will be your friend in the end

The Chains Of Wealth

The chains of wealth
Have taken hold
So now your faith
It can not grow
The TV set
With beacon call
Is telling you
The praises of the mall
The conveyance of
Your fancy car
Will take you to
The restaurant bar
Your books and games
Jewelry and chains
Have captured you
In empty pain
You've had the lobster
Shrimp and steak
But time with your Lord
You do forsake
Because Jesus is not
At the movie theatre
Or instant coffee
Or a can of beer
It is hard
For you to hear
His voice of love
Truthful and clear
Saying: "Do you love me
more than these
Take up your cross
My love is free
And it will satisfy your soul
Not leave you empty like the world"

A Thanksgiving Prayer

Thank you Lord for the turkey
Stuffed with jewels and baked so pretty

Thank you Lord for the cranberry sauce
Remind us of what the farmer gave and what the farmer lost

Thank you Lord for pumpkin pie
Help me Lord not to eat with my eyes
It may look good and taste real yummy
But not everything I see will fit in my tummy

Thank you Lord for corn on the cob
Thank you Lord you did a good job
Watering it and giving it sunlight
It tastes so good it turned out right
Also helps us not forget
Others who are starving yet
We pray that you would be with them
Give them warmth, food and friends

She is a Butterfly of the Lord

1. She is a butterfly of the Lord
She dances around singing His holy word
She hears His voice in her dreams at night
She is a lamp of a city very bright

2. She taught me things of such great wisdom
She is a lover of God's holy son
She said it's the only way to be
If you really want to be free

Author's Comments

It's a poem I wrote about a christian I met when I was first following Jesus. I was a member of St Paul's prayer group and there was this lady name Trish who was very encouraging. She was very nice to me despite some of the things I put her through. It was in my Poetry Book called: It's Jesus in Me (Poems the Lord gave me) which I used to sell and managed to sell about 150 copies so later I added music to it and recorded it for I'm A Prince by the artist still known as Art Paul Schlosser CD.
